Description
The pencil lineart for "just a boy, just a girl", with a little digital enhancing, if anyone's interested in comparing with the finished product.
If you say you like this better than the finished digital painting, I may have to thwack you upside the head. *sigh*
Much as I love him--and I certainly do--Jareth is a bitch to draw.
- it's too easy for his head to look too big with that mess of hair
- I had trouble making his body look gracefully relaxed and lounging....
- ... I don't know if anyone else has encountered this problem, but that ...bulge... of his is also problematic. I mean, you've got to draw it, but... not be crass...

I came back to look at this once more... having seen the preliminary sketches that went into the finished work of art, I have to say... you are truly gifted. so much work and skill went into bringing my words to life, and I will never ever forget how hard you worked on this. Still one of my favorite pieces, and when I read it over as I do from time to time, I always come back to look at your sketches.... Thank you so much for doing this piece for me... some day I'm going to have to ask you for the cost and buy the original.... and then one day down the road, if Brian gets his head out of his backside, maybe he'll let me write a real sequel to Labyrinth and you can do the cover! ah if one is going to dream, dream big, eh?
