FeaturedCommentsI canNOT believe that I didn't even know about this comic until about a week ago. I've been reading as fast as I could, laughter & tears allowing. Couple of questions: Does Mrs. Lovett live in the Building? If she's looking for a roommate, how about Eponine? (apologies if you've already giving her one, and I missed it.) Also, I keep waiting for the shoe to drop from #164 YMMV. Christine coming out of the shower, thinks she's alone, but isn't.
Oh, and LOVED the Kablooie pages, especially as that word always reminds me of "Calvin & Hobbes" and "Hamster Huey..." You have inspired me to watch "Labyrinth" again, just as soon as I can carve out the time. Thank you! Possibly you've been missing pages (that'll happen if you read 'em in the main gallery rather than the GND-sp'effic folder). The person in the room with Christine is Arsčne Lupin as shown on the following page...
If you look up the other fancomic Down the Street by ~HeroesDaughter, it's currently on hiatus but starred a lot more of Mrs Lovett, so I'm going to roll with the idea she lives in a neighbouring, just-slightly-less-crazy apartement block with some other Gothic Lit characters. Glad to entertain. So, this might actually be a silly question considering all that's gone down in the GND-Roommates fan-verse (and Lord knows I ship them like any other fangirl) but... does Jareth actually love Sarah? In your 'verse?
Because we've seen him pester her and tease her and he definitely has (if nothing else) a crush/continued fascination on/with the girl who kicked his glittery backside all those years ago. But has he actually fallen in love with her? Or is that something that will develop in their hopefully-one-day-future mutual romance? Goodness. That's a big word you're throwing around in my silly fancomic...
Um. There's still plenty of room for Jareth's feelings to grow and mature, I'd say. But the between-the-lines conclusion to Sarah's ultimatum to him in the Conversation 2-pager was that he well serious about wanting her as Queen, so... GND-Jareth is really not given to profound musings on the nature of immortal love and all that beautiful juicy angst. We'll just see what windows of opportunity for verbalizing/acting upon his true feelings will come with the storylines... hehe sorry to drop such a big hammer in the middle of things. I ask because Jareth's relationship to Sarah in Roommates is slightly less antagonistic and more... overtly romantic I guess? (I think he's actually told her he loves her, sometime in the 1st Erlkönig arc) whereas in GND he behaves more like a(n unusually suave and persuasive) little boy chasing Sarah around the schoolyard, though he has been maturing something magnificent over the past year...
So ya. I s'pose I was just curious on your take on the whole shebang. Well unlike Roommates I haven't been tossing any life-or-death, battle-in-the-center-of-the-soul type situations at 'em that are more conducive to serious emotional drama and declarations of love and all.
There was that Slap to bring it home to Jareth that she's not *just* being contrary in denying him, and consequently to ease Sarah out her instinctive (and defensive) "villain-zoning" him... so yes, some romantic progress there, but still nothing in the same league as Dark!Jareth or Jadis mind-control... Like I said... we'll see how they do if the storylines ever dip into that sort of plot for GND. (Also I am plagued by the crossover plotbunnies to wonder what the hell is going through Roommates!Sarah's mind in the light of all the recent stuff, but that's not the story Ashe is telling.) I love your works! I have idea for one of your comics. why not put some lolipop chainsaw characters in the comics . if you want to?
