Inspired after reading that mind-blowing piece of fanfiction that is A Boy, and Girl, a Dog: the Lay of Leithian Revisited by Philosopher@Large, a script-format re-write of the tale of Beren and Luthien... with every single character from the First Age seemingly appearing at some point or other, brought to very vivid life; extremely clever foreshadowing and and in-depth knowledge of Arda and Tolkien's work that is absolutely staggering. And some very interesting philosophical, moral and theological debate tossed in there too.
It's helped me reevaluate the importance of Huan in the tale; and generally filled me with wonder and searing admiration for Luthien, Beren, Finrod and the Ten.
