He will eat your heart.

Unless you eat his first.

An experiment, for a Valentine's Day piece... ... I don't know what strange corner of my mind this one came one; certainly I have plenty enough on my plate to be working on instead.

Inspired by Neil Gaiman's 'Harlequin Valentine' short story and graphic novel, and visually influenced by--i.e. scandalously ripping-off, or at least attempting to and producing a very substandard emulation of--the art of Dave McKean.
Seriously, he could probably sue.

I love this image. Also, I'm so happy you drew this because I thought I was the only person who had read this book- no one I knew had ever heard of it.

Well, this will probably creep around in my brain, laying dormant until the most innocent stimulus will provoke him to launch an attack. In that creepy kind of way, it's a very good image.

I love the bizarre body language in this- so surreal and twisted, yet still somehow graceful. Love the story and the drawing goes with it perfectly. :)

The short story was published in "Fragile things", right? Where was the graphic novel published?

The graphic novel was a standalone; I think with the usual Vertigo Comics? It's colourful and painterly and very faithful to the text.

As terrifying as this is, i can't help but love it! You've done such a good job of this, and it's such a good story too! I think Neil would be proud!

Really love the story! Colours, composition, and creepiness work perfectly here!
