*sigh* Except, despite the moronic delivery, that line actually IS important and new information and NOT Captain-Obvious-ing - up to that point the Three Hunters didn't know if the Orcs that took Merry and Pippin were working for Sauron or Saruman, and it's in-story confirmation to them that yep, Christopher Lee is playing a bad guy.
