"Something Oggish this way comes... "

How very fortunate for Jareth that he's away at the beach right now.

Nanny Ogg, for those unfamiliar with this character, is a witch from the wonderful Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels. She is described as facially ressembling a very cheerful, very wrinkled apple, she's a lot sharper than she appears, she's very suspicious of Elvish matters (with good cause in the Discworld continuum...), naturally inclined to meddle, and she is also a very dirty-minded old lady (Just google The Hedgehog Song...).

Her cat Greebo is a one-eyed, scarred, malevolent grey tom that basically attacks (or sexually harasses) just about anything. He certainly wouldn't be afraid of Ludo.

This one is sort of for ~Lixxle because somehow both Christine and Nanny Ogg seemed to be affected by her (and her especial Area fixation.) Go read her fics, people, they are crotcherrific and frikkin' hilarious. =D

You might want to keep an eye out for a Speshul next week, it's my birthday... =D

Because I want to write it somewhere and this is as much a good place as any ... doing translations brings forth my interest in etymology :D

The Hungarian word for fairy/fae/etc. is "tündér" a derivative form from "tűn(ik)" (approximately: to appear, to seem) or "tünd" (only used in it's derivative forms in modern Hungarian but approximately: to shine) and was probably originally an adjective meaning "changing", "uncertain", "something that appears and disappears seemingly random". Nowadays it's secondary meanings are "enchanting" or "cute" but also meant "social butterfly" till fairly recently. :meow:

Hehe, good old Nanny. Of course, having given birth to an entire clan, she really can back up her flirting. Poor goblin king.

A Slowpoke was supposed to be here, but he's late...
Still!
You keep expanding my world, Pika! I read "Good omens" (and I must say, I'm totally terrified by everything you're doing with Az&Crowley :XD: ), I started reading "Neverwhere", and now I'm totally reading Pratchett as well! (Not to mention all of the movies I watched thanks to you...) Just wanted to say thanks :)
Ah, and ask too: who's sir D? Someone from the Discoworld?
