Political maneuvering judo! Maybe sorta. The still-Silencio'd Hat would be making ribald running commentary pertaining to the UST were he able to - shame about that. (Still more fun to watch than Super-Senior Chess...)

Aaand Jareth joins Team Snorkack Hunt! This will go well.
[That last panel shows Suspicious-Sarah, not Jealous-Sarah, as is hopefully logical.]

Couple of obscure-ish shout-outs here:
- The Hat is now named Cervantès.... because parallels to Chaucer showing up in one extremely good Labyfic y'all should've read....
- And that trick of Jareth's (actually a repeat from when they departed the rooftop) which is counting on human 'catch' reflexes when something [potentially magically dangerous or a Big Plotty Deal] is tossed their way and thereby getting to play some potentially nasty, classic Faerie rules of "you accepted the gift!" (and demanding equivalent exchange/compensation, etc...) - was nicked from 'The Books of Magic', the Timothy Hunter series started by Neil Gaiman. Though presumably in this case it's just Jareth cutting corners and nothing outright malicious. Yeah.

Love love love Luna Lovegood!  And Sarah's various expressions are always a source of mirth to myself.  :D  Your art style is quite unique and enjoyable.  :)

"I've an army of rebellious poultry resurgent on my arms?"
Is this different somehow (bigger?!) from having them 'on his hands', or is it just a weird Jareth-idiom?

I'm not quite clear why Jareth is so keen on having Sarah wear the sigil in the first place... other than enjoying the thought of it against her skin (which she still doesn't seem to be co-operating on!)

And so Jareth is on the rolls of the expedition again, as I'd rather assumed he would be in the first place -- especially after he materialised outside the Labyrinth. They didn't get very far without him, and it's not as if the Goblin King has much else to spend his attention on in the world up above in Sarah's absence: isn't she the main reason why he is absent from his kingdom in the first place? The only reason I can see for his not going along would be if Sarah simply wouldn't have agreed to it unless forced by circumstances.

From that point of view the "Labyrinth-arc" so far feels like a bit of a detour...

Well bugger me, I believe that's a frenchism slipped past me... ''sur les bras'' for ''on my hands''. Bummer.

Murky GK motives are murky. :)

I do believe part of Jareth's agenda in this whole adventure is an observation of how Sarah takes to the Labyrinth, this second time around without his villainous pressuring her. Amazingly, he is not making it all about him, except insofaras  "You... you will be Queen - and I, I will be King...". They're both well aware they are a... distraction, to one another, at the very least, and he really does want her to appreciate her little adventure in what is intended to be her future beloved realm. I mildly resent on Sarah's behalf that ''they didn't get very far without him''... the Blikkins were not planned for.

Also to bear in mind, post depositing Sarah and her plus one in the Labyrinth, Jareth was hit by a whammy of a power rush and a sudden intoxicating array of options tempting him to revert to bad old habits and tip the scales in his favour, cf. 'Brink'. A great deal of the time between that conversation with Erik and his Big Damn Heroes moment was in fact spent prostrate in furious inner conflict about how to handle this and whether to go Dark or no, on top of whatever his original subtle ploys with the pendant-loan may have been. The Blikkin attack forced his hand before he could come to any firm decision, hence the tentativeness and intended tension of their reunion at that point, and some of his irritation (besides that at Sarah getting herself hurt).

The ''Return-to-the-Labyrinth'' arc was just something that always had to happen, in a fan-continuation of the JS storyline, y'know?

Ah, I must remember "have on one's arms" (like "be on one's guards") as a subtle 'fair but foreign English' indicator for fictional purposes :)

It's an interesting suggestion that Jareth would actually have preferred to watch Sarah's response to the Labyrinth minus his own distracting self (that serving presumably as a Queen audition!)

'Not very far' was conceived in 'game location' terms: I think they pass through two locations (the outer maze and the chess-players' garden) before running into the Blikkins.

Yeah, but they aren't on a repeat of Sarah's run, trying to get to the Castle. Point, however.

Heh heh, Touchwood. It's funny because both messing up the name and also the slipping in of a dick joke. Always a treat.

I really really like Jareth's moment of uncertainty-bordering-on-vulernability in Panel 4. After all, if Sarah backs out at this point (she does have a legit reason), there's NOTHING he can do that won't utterly (1) undo any / all of the progress that he's made with Sarah; (2) be utterly humiliating; and (3) ... not sure... I had some vague idea, but it escaped.

Anyway. That moment of openness. Yes. Quite wonderful. And how shocked and young Sarah appears. In that moment, I think that she remembers all the reasons that she used to distrust Jareth, and how she has distrusted herself.

Panel 6: Wise Jareth almost makes a VERY BRIEF appearance, with logical reasons that are also quite complimentary toward the... ummm... blocker of his own shippy plans.

And then they settle into their accustomed banter/fighting/flirting pattern. It has become as much a comfort for Jareth as it is a way for Sarah to maintain control over her own hormones / emotions, in my opinion.

In Panel 10, in addition to Luna's awareness that they're fighting... again (you mentioned it in a response to somebody already), I noticed Sir Didymus's expression. I think he's conflicted. His sense of knightly duty would have him siding with his monarch; his sense of chivalry would align him with Sarah, except that perhaps he would try to stop her from arguing... and his personal opinion of the topic? Hmmm...

Yup, lots of good stuff in this, for additional pondering.
