GND202- Diva-ine Intervention by Pika-la-Cynique GND202- Diva-ine Intervention by Pika-la-Cynique
Sing it, Sarah: DESTINY, DESTINY, NO ESCAPING THAT FOR ME!
[link]

Really, you're getting ever so worked up and botherated about such a wee thing. Leaving the Fail-field to take a trek through Jareth's dominion? Guiding Luna through the Labyrinth? Piece of cakeStroll in the park...

(... Are there any classic operas that manage to pull off a Screw Destiny motion successfully...?)

(Nope, no Clucktoberfest Speshul I'm afraid - I'm all too busy and got caught out by schedule slip and since I will be out of ambit next week I preferred advancing plot matters.)

Just a little tactless of Christine to pull a "some people are trying to study here" when it was she who was responsible for summoning Jareth onto the scene in the first place, with entirely predictable consequences, quarrel- and volume-wise...!

Does Luna actually need to touch the Snorkacks in person (i.e. visit the Labyrinth) for her thesis? Couldn't Sarah fob her off with a remote-controlled observation through the mirror...? I suppose not, once she knows the alternative's on offer.

Jareth appears very surprised at the idea that anyone might want to visit the Labyrinth.

Today, on the re-read...

Please notice a goblin's failed attempt to touch, grab, chew, or otherwise chew some belong of Luna Lovegood's. Please further notice that while the two goblins who were not thrilled to see the Goblin King (in all of his glittery, tight-pantsed glory) appear have disappeared by the end of the comic, Skeep is still there. Skeep is, unequivocally a fan of the King, and is also quite impressed with Christine's hair. Skeep is, however, sufficiently scared of spelling-out-the-path-of-Destiny!Christine that the goblin shifts position to HIDE behind the sofa.

And, really, all Christine wants to do is to get back to studying for whatever major paper / exam it is that she's got coming up. Because otherwise, how has she not twigged to the shift in Jareth-Sarah dynamic? :D

Seriously, though... what is that of Luna's that that one goblin is trying to grab?

I'm not sure the shift is that obvious to an outside viewer here? Seems like the fairly usual Irate Sarah/Smug Jareth-ness, and Christine can tell a plothook that won't be fobbed off...

Her wand. Although it might be attracted by the smell of the large piece of fruitcake also in that pocket.

Ah... so Christine isn't as firmly attached to wearing her shipping goggles as I am. Makes sense. She's (quite in-characterly) more aware and willing to be part of the "contrived plot progession". That works.

Ahhhh! Both make very good sense. Thanks!

Luna has always been my favorite Cloud Cuckoolander, and I just love her in that last panel. It's so perfectly . . . Luna.
