Sometimes Christine is the ditzy romantic airhead to Sarah's modern snarkiness, and sometimes, she is a woman who gracefully steered two love stories through madness and death threats and has a whole century's perspective on story matters. When Sarah emotionally [re]acts like she is scarcely out of her teens.
(Although to be entirely fair to Sarah, Jareth's own antics don't always display a great amount of maturity either...)

Here's an idea: Have Christine be duo'd with Jareth and become his teacher and mentor in developing social skills.
