So this was the original one-off idea the snapshots were leading up to. Silly paper hats as is a traditional British-style Christmas must, and naturally Darkness' line is uttered in the most sleazy trademark Tim Curry voice you can imagine. And yes, he is wearing Santa Claus hotpants. YOU ARE WELCOME.
Maybe the "proposal" narrative has filtered into this after all, or maybe Jadis is really just taking the potential for especial Christmas family awkwardness as far as she can. I'm not sure Jareth views her "accepting" Sarah as a good thing, all in all.
