First things first! Y'all and myself all owe LouisaGallie
still for all those gorgeous shiny colour pages (and the ones to come, when I get 'em pencilled damnit), so feel free to go check out her baby - the videogame her studio has been working on for some time now, Eldevin
, is out and playable and full of her lovely visuals.
Sign up to play, if fantasy RPGs are your cup of tea, or pass the link around to fellow geeks!

Meanwhile! I am going to be heading to the Festival BD d'Angouleme
this weekend, which is one of the biggest festivals for French-language comics and graphic novels (and imports and famous guest jury members), to help promote Alyssa
and do signings and kiddy workshops. I've been before, but not while wearing the colours, as it were, of one of the bigger publishers; this should be pretty frantic and exhausting (and the weather is always ghastly) but equally full of VIP frills - frankly, I am a sucker for an Author badge and free beer.
(Hell, there have to be some perks to choosing uber-insecure freelancing job...). Also, as an offical guest-artist I get to cast a vote for this year's Grand Prix - so Bill Watterson FTW.
And just before that big extravaganza, the festival throws down a gauntlet: the 24H BD challenge! Tuesday 3pm-Wednesday 3pm (GMT+1h), 24 hours to churn out 24 pages of sequential art, to a surprise set theme. There are Pro, Amateur and Student categories to sign up for, and people liveblog the challenge and pages go up on a central website as progress is made over the looong night.
I've always had a good excuse previous years not to touch this madness with a ten-foot pole, but this time I am doing this! (just in time to be well shattered for the big con ^^') A collective of artists in my current town of residence are all going to be hanging out together in a school building to do this, with pizza and webcams and a pillow pile for flake-outs. What larks.
You can watch!
The 24Hour challenge website is here
, pages will go up as the hours tick by and I suspect that lil camera icon by my name means I'll be hassled by chaps armed with a webcam at some point (I sure hope I'm not going to be livefeeding the whole time!). I'm not sure you can comment, but any cheerleading over here or there or on my blog
will be super appreciated in the wee small light-headed hours!
So yeah. Here we go!
