  • Mood: Relief
  • Listening to: HTTYD2 OST
  • Reading: Rivers of London
  • Watching: Penny Dreadful. OK I am won over.
  • Drinking: lots of rosé, soon, I hope.
Wheeeeeee!! Alyssa 2 is off to the printers tomorrow. The past fortnight has been INSANE and I am bug-eyed from 3 days straight of tweaks and final edits.

(I did reward myself with HTTYD2 after I was done inking, however. Cackles and gleeful air-punches and ugly sobbing ensued. Loved it as much as I expected to.)

So, new GND page up at last; and I have a big ole backlog of messages and commissions and goodies due to various people, and I shall finally have the time and headspace for some fandom stuffs... after I spend a few days enjoying some R&R somewhere sunny.

And thanks so much for all your kind comments and show of support and the warm fuzzies of feeling appreciated on my previous journal.

WHAT?!  When did this happen?  I know they made a series based on the Doozers from Fraggle Rock, but I didn't hear about this.

I was coming to ask the same thing. I'm honestly a little nervous about the news. Sequels are notoriously bad news for franchises that I love.…

The day you realize that rather than being friends, or even roommates, with the girls in GND, you'd fit better with the stalkers... That day is today, my friends.  But I promise to stay away.  After all, I wouldn't want to give J & E too much hope--my stalking victim married me ^.^

Err... congrats? ^^;
Okay, so I've always wondered this but never asked (perhaps out of fear of sounding like an uncultured swine) Why is Christine blonde in GND? Yes, I'm aware it's a frivolously pointless matter but I can't help it, I'm curious. Everything I've seen of the Phantom of the Opera has a brunette Christine.

Several reasons, the primary one being that she is blonde (being, y'know, Swedish and all) in the original novel. And also in Terry Pratchett's spoof 'Maskerade'. So I was making a bit of statement about harking back to material other than the musical/film, which I do feel over-romanticizes the Phantom just a smidgeon, characterization wise... and also for purely visual design reasons, for a better complementary duo with dark-haired Sarah.
Also, as many things in the Building-verse comics, Ashe Did It First.

Ahhh.. did not know she was originally blonde. I guess that's what I get for being a musical junky, haha. Yeah, I think I could understand what you mean by "over-romanticized" a bit. Still love it, though :) Thanks!

I do recommend getting your hands on the novel, if only for curiosity and completion's sake.
