  • Mood: Relief
  • Listening to: HTTYD2 OST
  • Reading: Rivers of London
  • Watching: Penny Dreadful. OK I am won over.
  • Drinking: lots of rosé, soon, I hope.
Wheeeeeee!! Alyssa 2 is off to the printers tomorrow. The past fortnight has been INSANE and I am bug-eyed from 3 days straight of tweaks and final edits.

(I did reward myself with HTTYD2 after I was done inking, however. Cackles and gleeful air-punches and ugly sobbing ensued. Loved it as much as I expected to.)

So, new GND page up at last; and I have a big ole backlog of messages and commissions and goodies due to various people, and I shall finally have the time and headspace for some fandom stuffs... after I spend a few days enjoying some R&R somewhere sunny.

And thanks so much for all your kind comments and show of support and the warm fuzzies of feeling appreciated on my previous journal.

Being a fan of Sherlock (a three episodes a year show), having no way of watching it but Netflix, AND getting the episodes later than Europeans because I'm in America, I have learned to be patient when it comes to art. Your GND comic is definitely art! A masterpiece at that! I, as a faithful reader and a devoted fan like many others, understand you have a life of your own (btw much congrats on how good your Alyssa comic is doing :) awesome!) and we have fallen so deeply in love with your art that we do not despair when a page takes a while. Instead, we praise the work which you have already given us and thank you for allowing us to indulge in your talents! I know this all seems random, but I felt like giving you a little "hey, you rock!" Message. My story: I came across your GND comics when I was desperately searching the internet for any sort of Labyrinth stories or art. You see, I'd just finished watching the movie for the millionth time in my life and once again, when it ended, I wanted there to be more. (I have actually (being the theatre junky that I am) tried to write my own musical stage adaptation for Labyrinth but that needs a lot of tweaking.... Anyway) So, I searched the internet for something to quench my thirst. And then, on google, I found a few pages of your comic. The first one I saw was up just of Sarah and Christine. In this particular page, there was nothing that made it blatantly obvious that this Christine was THE CHRISTINE from my favorite musical (again, theatre junky) THEN! The next page I saw had the marvelous Phantom himself standing with the Goblin King! At first, such a beautiful yet trippy sight set my head in such a daze that I couldn't tell left from right. But then, after my senses came back to me, I knew I had to read more! So I found your page on here and I scrolled through the pages to the very beginning. On my little iPod, I kept your webpage minimized at all times so that when I had the time, I could easily whip it open and eat through the pages one by one until finally, I came to the end. To this day, I still keep your Deviant Art page in a tab at all times so that I can always see the new additions to your story as soon as possible. Thank you for taking two of my favorite stories and combining them with a bunch of other cool characters, fantastic art and writing, and plenty of laughs and heartfelt moments with the characters I was already so in love with. If I had half the talent you did, I would draw on all the walls in my house and I'd try to fill a few peoples lives with a little enjoyment just like you have filled so many people's lives with enjoyment. When the next page of GND comes out, we will all be right here to welcome you back and thank you for an awesome experience.

Whatever makes you comfortable, be sure to do it! I myself understand the strains of real life vs. fandom passion, and wish you nothing but the best of luck in both endeavors. We all look forward to hearing from you!

Through Dangers Untold and Hardships Unnumbered...

It's good to see movement around here. The spiders were getting audacious. Growing up is hard and rent is a tough addiction to break.

You're an amazing artist and a wonderful storyteller, I'm so glad that you're getting to tell your stories and your own characters(you know what I mean.). But I'm also relieved when you swing by here and sweep out the cobwebs.

It's only forever, that's not long at all.

Agreed! Wouldn't it be something if Pika was able to obtain the rights and do a proper Labyrinth sequel?

I'd buy it!
